I saw this photo in the paper this morning and thought "how long before I see this on the back cover of the readers digest"? Norman Rockwell isnt around anymore but this reminded me of him.
A high speed police chase is a huge event here in middle america. There are less than 10 each year mainly because when you are running on flat open ground what is the point when there is always another small town with a police car 6 miles ahead of you.
Another point about chases is that earlier this year, two different motorcycle ran from police on different days within a week of each other. The first rider was found dead in a ditch a week later after he had won the race but lost the battle of the road. The second rider ended up underneath a parked pickup truck when he missed a corner at speeds in excess of 90. This was the third chase for this summer season and since there is a 66 percent fatality rate for police chases in webster county, they wanted to say that nobody died.
