Here is something pretty neat ... it's causing a lot of controversy on the Internet. It's late teenage girls that are in the Israeli military with guns. It's pretty wild and kind of sexy in weird way ... LOL!

It's just to think about, but in Israel they still have the draft so every 18 year old male and female has to do a stint in the military.

the photographer who served herself in the Israeli army has some interesting opinions on the whole situation. I wonder if males doing their same service have the same troubles that she describes bothering the ladies.

Holly Crap... doesn't that kinda make ya glad your in America? I mean I don't even want my boys going in the service. You can see the pain in the girls eyes. Not having any choice makes the whole situation so sad.

Everything she said could be applied to any young draftee of either sex. I don't think it's just girls/women who feel the loss of family and reality when they are shuttled off to do their military duty for two years.

I re enlisted in the Harbor at Haifa Israel the same week that they dragged Michael Walker away in chains. The US ambassador to Israel gave me a 6 gallon bucket of strawberry ice cream to go along with my cake !!

I fondly remember walking thru a park there and going up to a little concessoin stand for a cold drink. Mostly I stopped at the stand because there was a real cutie working the counter that I could have sworn NEEDED to be chatted up by me. :big_evil :thumbs_up:

Anyway during the course of the conversation between other customers, the topic of military aservice came up and she showed us how quickly that she could go to the backroom and re emerge in a few minutes in full BDU's with enough firepower to level a NYC block. I was duly impressed. Ended up letting her show me around town later on that night. I paid and she took me around. I have many, many fond memories of Israel. I also realized that a good precentage of "Israeli's" grew up in New York City and are living in Israel for a few years to serve their time in the army.
